What are Fire Safety Audits?
This is a systematic and, whenever possible, independent examination to determine whether standards of fire safety conform to those required in order to achieve the organisations fire safety policy and objectives.
Why?
There is no legal requirement under the Fire Safety Order 2005 to undertake a fire safety audit. However a fire safety audit can be a valuable method of demonstrating to the Fire Service that your fire safety documentation (e.g. fire risk assessment and emergency procedure) are suitable, sufficient and that your fire safety policies and procedures are adhered to.
